Silver Stone Gym
As I mentioned in Climbing! Hisashiburi!, our family's love for outdoor adventures like climbing brings us closer together. This time, we decided to try out Silver Stone Indoor Rock Gym. We went back to the inimitable Silver Stone Indoor Rock Gym to limber up. Hugh and Rian were super excited about it and related to what I discussed in Climbing! Hisashiburi!, as they too got to experience the thrill of indoor climbing.
Hugh climbing at Silver Stone Gym
This reminds me of our experience with Minecraft in Creative Minecraft, where we learned about the importance of adapting to one's strengths and weaknesses. Hugh had longer arms than Rian, but Rian’s light body weight seemed to compensate for that and he too drifted along the wall like a dancer. Hugh thought Rian was better but Hugh in fact was doing the more difficult climbs by a margin.
Rian was super excited about it and related to what I discussed in Climbing! Hisashiburi!, where we learned that even a smaller body weight can be an advantage for climbing.
As I wrote about this in Skiing in 2016, our family's love for outdoor adventures like skiing and climbing brings us closer together. Building on ideas from our past outdoor adventures, like Skiing in 2016, where we reflected on the benefits of skiing and climbing for staying grounded, we're excited to take Hugh and Rian to experience real rock climbing in Canada.
