today's topic is flashlights

do you have a flashlight in your house

I mean in case of emergency if there was a natural disaster and the electricity went out

would you be okay finding your way around in the dark

my son has a headlamp which is a flashlight that has a strap and you can put it on your head

I used to use headlamps when I went mountaineering and camping a lot but these days I don't have one and I don't have a flashlight either

I use my smartphone at night when I turn out the lights the light switch is not convenient to my bed so I have to walk across a dark room

that could be dangerous so I carry my smartphone with me and I use the flashlight on my smartphone and then I can get to my bed safely turn off the flashlight on the smartphone put it at the head of my bed and go to sleep

but I still think it would be a good idea to have a flashlight and besides these days batteries last much longer and they're stronger than they were before

I've seen some flashlights that are like searchlights they're amazingly bright probably far brighter than a car headlight and you could have a lot of fun with them

speaking of fun Have you ever put a flashlight up against your chin in the dark and turned on the light

if you see other people do this or if you look at yourself in the mirror you get strange Shadows across your face and it's really spooky kind of fun but spooky
