"Investing.
Do you invest? Well, I'd say you do invest, maybe you don't invest money, but you certainly invest, for instance, right now I'm investing my time in making these podcasts.
I hope that this can help people learn their English better.
You are investing time listening to this podcast so that your English listening can be better.
You invest time in maybe studying something and you invest your money in.
Well, I don't know, there's a lot of places you can invest your money and investing money is what people mostly think about, but it's not the only thing that we can invest.
It's just the most commonly spoken about.
If you invest your money, how do you do it? And where do you do it? The most common way to invest your money for average ordinary folk is to buy something.
If you buy a car, you're investing your money in the car and you're kind of hoping that you'll get some value out of the car that's worth more than the money you put in.
You might, you might not same with your house.
Well, that depends on where you live.
A lot of people in north America expect to buy a house today as an investment and they're hoping that the price of the house will go up.
And historically, it has the funny thing is living in Japan.
I discovered that the price of the house historically goes down.
I thought that's strange.
So the house is not so much of an investment in Japan.
Most people think investing is buying stocks and it is, you can go out get a, an account at a stockbroker.
That's the guy who buys the stock on your behalf because you can't buy the stock directly and then you can start buying and selling stocks.
That's a whole another podcast though.
So I'll finish off with this general introduction to in investing."
